Friendship

Margaret Walker once said,"Friends and good manners will carry you where money won't go". I strongly agree with this quote. Sure  money solves some problems but it is not the true key to happiness. Friends are actually in my opinion more valuable then money. I know that sounds cheesy but it is true.
Yes money can buy you the newest iPhone or even a new house but it can't buy you true friends. It is really true what people say that money does not buy you happiness. Some people say that money can buy friends. What kind of friends need to be bought? Obviously not true friends. True friends will be your friend through thick and thin. They are the people who help out through life.
For example, I know for a fact that without my friends I would not be anywhere in life. They are so amazing and truly great for supporting me. One friend in particular, who is actually my bet friend, has been there since day one. For me, the day I met her was one of the most important days. Without her I would have made a huge mess with my life. She has sat there with me cheering me on or even giving me advice. My friendship with her is worth more to me then any amount of money.
Money is a material that can not fulfill your need for friendship. The only thing that money can fill is bills being payed and temporary materialistic joy. Sure money can buy you a ticket to Disneyland or even the newest Steve Madden shoe collection. But just think. Do you think that those things are gonna be there to love, care or even support you in life? No, I highly doubt it. Money can not replace the true value of any friend.
This quote is self evident that friendship is very important, even more important then money. Money can not satisfy your desire for friendship. Love and cherish the friends that are in your life now. Remember money can not buy you everything. Not even happiness.

  1. You're right-- it's the people in our lives that make us happy. Though money can buy temporary happiness, material items always have the ability to break or get lost. They are temporary, whereas people will stay in our lives for the long run (the ones that truly love us, anyways.)

  2. I have always thought this and my friends are there for me no matter what. Your blog was very true yet there was a lot of repetition. But in the last paragraph the first sentence alluded to the constitution which I thought was very clever. Comparing true friendship to the constitution was genius :) great post :D

  3. I completely agree because if you think about it you can have money and it may be able to buy you fake friends but underneath their sweet talk they aren't anything close to being a true frind. And a true friend won't leave you in a blink of an eye if you loose everything unlike a true friend. I think friendship is one of the most beautiful things amingst humans because it brings out many wonderful qualities of the humman race.
